What a year! The 2012 A-List was the best ever—and that’s not just coming from us. The enthusiastic feedback from event attendees has been overwhelming. As our amazing host Eric Cohler stated, “the A-List is fast becoming one of the touchstone awards within our industry…akin to the Academy Awards.” Sometimes it all goes right and you get that magical, memorable night, and in this case it did—from major design stars on the regional and national level all convening at the Stamford Palace, the spirit and excitement of competition that filled the theater, right down to those crazy-good pink cupcakes. We want to say thank you to our judges, who traveled from all over the country to be with us, to our fantastic emcee, Eric Cohler, who handled his hosting duties with aplomb, and to our winners, finalists and their guests, for making the A-List such an incredibly special evening.

Even though that sugar buzz has worn off, people are still on a design high. A celebration like this can remind you of why you’re in this business to begin with. In this issue we are giving readers a closer look at all of the A-List winners’ and finalists’ fabulous projects. If these bedrooms make yours look a little tired, or if these kitchens have you hungering for an upgraded cooking space, use this issue as a resource guide to the top design professionals in Fairfield County. We’ve provided contact information with every project, and come on, these spaces were vetted by the likes of Thom Filicia and Victoria Hagan, so why look anywhere else?

With all this great energy and excitement, even more landscape professionals, architects and interior designers will want to enter next year just to be a part of this amazing program. Athomefc.com is open for entries starting December 1. And look for other updates throughout the winter on our website. Stay warm during New England’s chilly months, and know we’ll be bringing you something fresh in the spring.
