Our “Done in a Day” story in the May/June issue featured Kathy Hodge of Sage Designs tackling a time trial: to design a room in a day, using pieces from the Antique and Artisan Center in Stamford. Take a look at some additional shots and get the inside scoop on just how Kathy met her challenge head-on.
“The room is very simple,” Kathy says. “There’s a deliberateness about the architecture.” With two large openings and symmetrical windows, Kathy was ready to turn this blank canvas into a masterpiece.
By placing two sofas facing each other, Kathy made a commitment to creating a conversation space around the fireplace.
“With the addition of these black and white chairs, you’ve got so many neutrals in this room,” Kathy says. A neutral base is means you can add lots of contrast and interest with pops of color and memorable accessories.
