Destination Shopping

Have no fear, the Home Boutique of Greenwich is here, and bigger than ever. The store, which expanded a year and a half ago from 700 to 2,400 square feet, offers a bevy of linens and accessories as well as a custom-design service. Since opening in 2003, owner Normin Taylor says the boutique has remained a “destination store,” where people come for the purpose of designing and decorating rather than a quick browse. The store’s style is geared toward retaining the beauty of traditional Greenwich homes while updating them with contemporary pieces. The boutique also offers a variety of cottage furnishings perfect for second homes in seaside locations. But according to Taylor, the biggest draw for customers continues to be the custom service the shop provides. Her employees are experienced bedroom and bathroom designers, and are committed to helping their clients improve rooms of a certain look. “We try to help in any budget; we have extensive knowledge and we’re just happy to make rooms beautiful, so we really enjoy working for people,” Taylor says.
