Covering Cos Cob

The team at J&J Upholstery and Window Treatments loves their new retail space in Cos Cob, which opened this past spring. The store at 232 East Putnam Ave is a welcome expansion for the family-owned and operated business, which also runs a workroom in Stamford.

“We wanted to get more exposure with our retail clients and designers,” says Jovanna Saquinaula, president. The inviting store lets J&J enjoy more of a physical presence in the community. It doesn’t hurt that locals have been so friendly, either.

“We like that we feel welcomed in the neighborhood. People come in and say, ‘Welcome to Cos Cob!’”

The retail space offers a peek at J&J Upholstery’s handiwork. Clients can peruse top-quality items, such as custom chairs upholstered in designer fabric, to get a feel for the services of the eight-year-old business. They offer custom furniture crafting, window treatments, antique restoration, refinishing, and upholstery. “We have custom pieces here that we actually make ourselves,” says office manager Aphrodite Gutierrez.

Perfect for those who don’t want bland, mass-market pieces in their homes. Customers can purchase one-of-a-kind items, or talk to the team about a custom project. If you’re looking for an upholsterer—or more—in Cos Cob, J&J Upholstery and Window Treatments has you covered.
