Cheerful Chairs

Andrea Mihalik gives vintage chairs new life using gorgeous fabrics

Andrea Mihalik of Wild Chairy Studio takes vintage chairs that have seen better days and gives them new life. The artist creates each one-of-a-kind piece by hand, using Old-World techniques and earth-friendly materials like horsehair, organic cotton and Italian twine. Though Mihalik does work in dark palettes for some pieces, we especially like when she goes bold, incorporating wild textiles with bright colors and graphic patterns into her designs. These chairs, one of which features a fabric by Trina Turk (above), are really getting us into the summer groove. 229 Redman Avenue, Haddonfield, NJ, 856-524-0943, wildchairy.com - AK
