August 2014—Troy Fine Art proudly presents the work of contemporary artist Mary Elizabeth Peterson, offering a unique color theory. An exhibition called, “Colors of Indian Summer".
Peterson’s work is a powerful catalyst for reflection; her personal history is full of remarkable events including surviving 11 hours of life-threatening brain surgery. Exhibition opening August 21, 2014, 6:00pm-7:30pm. Light refreshments and great art. RSVP's appreciated: (203) 255-1555.
Peterson is one of the few artists working today who has thoroughly absorbed the notion of significant form. She is part artist, part conductor: orchestrating lines, shapes and colors into such combinations that the completed artwork evokes an aesthetic ecstasy. “Her art simply moves you,” says Denise DiGrigoli Principal at Troy Fine Art, “and that’s not easy to pull off”.
Born in Hartford, Mary Elizabeth Peterson received degrees in Journalism & Art History at UConn and studied painting at The Corcoran College of Art and Design in Washington, DC. She currently lives and works in Westport.
